tax
A tax (from the Latin taxo) is a mandatory financial charge or some other type of levy imposed upon a taxpayer (an individual or other legal entity) by a governmental organization in order to fund various public expenditures. A failure to pay, or evasion of or resistance to taxation, is punishable by law. Taxes consist of direct or indirect taxes and may be paid in money or as its labour equivalent. Most countries have a tax system in place to pay for public/common/agreed national needs and government functions: some levy a flat percentage rate of taxation on personal annual income, some on a scale based on annual income amounts, and some countries impose almost no taxation at all, or a very low tax rate for a certain area of taxation. Some countries charge a tax both on corporate income and dividends; this is often referred to as double taxation as the individual shareholder(s) receiving this payment from the company will also be levied some tax on that personal income.
A new section is added to chapter 82.08 RCW to read as follows:
(1) There is levied and collected a tax upon each retail sale of ammunition at the rate of 11 percent of the selling price.
(2) This tax is in addition to the federal, state, and local sales and use tax imposed on sales of goods...
Does anybody know if Gunbroker sends out 1099's?
I sold a 3-4 guns on Gunbroker this year... All were my private firearms, i.e., not specifically acquired for resale, but more of a "garage sale" situation.
I would ask them directly but it is impossible to speak to anyone over there.

Just got my first paycheck of the year and see that there are 2 new taxes. A FMLA tax and a sick leave tax. I don't remember this being something we voted on , at least i know if it had been on the ballot I would have voted against it. Is this a State or federal tax? I hope Tim Eyman's group...

So hand guns pay a 10% excise tax. Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition pay a 11% excise tax.
So what about gun parts, do they require paying the Federal tax?
Just noticing that you can build a rifle cheaper then buying a complete rifle and am wondering if taxes plays into that.

Traded in my 2008 Chevy pick up for a new 2018 GMC truck. Gotta keep up with the Jones's in the contracting business. As of the first of the year there is a new sales tax for new vehicles, that is .005 (half of one percent) of purchase price. Of course, this tax is levied against the dealership...
Disclosure: I like minimal government and low taxes!
Oregon has provided tax credits for all kinds of products from electric cars to toilets to wood stoves, etc. I guess they feel these products somehow supported the public good in one way or another. Many anti gun people claim the anti gun...
Genuinely curious. From what I can see, outside of a little extra paperwork, all the tax stamp is is a standard background check. Or is it? I know you submit some pretty substantial fingerprints - are they running your prints through the FBI database? Or are those just for the records? I've...
