question
A question is an utterance which typically functions as a request for information, which is expected to be provided in the form of an answer. Questions can thus be understood as a kind of illocutionary act in the field of pragmatics or as special kinds of propositions in frameworks of formal semantics such as alternative semantics or inquisitive semantics. Questions are often conflated with interrogatives, which are the grammatical forms typically used to achieve them. Rhetorical questions, for example, are interrogative in form but may not be considered true questions as they are not expected to be answered.
I use Sierra .308" 168gr and 155gr MK HPBT bullets, and I am getting great results from them. However, I am not happy about the difference between batches. I buy them in box of 500 and I find difference between batches 0.015-0.020" (OGIVE). If you use the same bullets, did you notice this? I am...
Imagine you had a part time 2nd job that motivated you to spend more money than you made at the job. Now imagine that the employer required you to provide negative results on a virus test before you were allowed to continue working there. Would you take a test and give up that information or...
I’m curious how the bgc works with private sales and trades. If you go to a local dealer and have them do the background check for someone purchasing a gun from you, or you from them, does the applicant go into the que with all the other applicants buying new from a dealer?
Hi all,
I have a question.
Is there a specific forum board that is tailored for long range precision or competition long range?
It seems most or all are taking place in South/South East Oregon. I have spoken to a few folks briefly and they mentioned a location that has competition in Bend.
Any...
I got some 9mm ammo from a guy today that has been wet. I took all the rounds that were kind of corroded a little and put them in a box to get rid of. I would never use the rest of it for anything but shooting at the range unless it was SHTF scenario and it was all I had. What are your thoughts...
Just tapping the wealth of knowledge within our ranks. (@kmk1012 ?)
My rig currently has 315 75R-16's and in need of new sneakers. With gas prices what they are these days... I'm thinking it may serve me better to go with something a bit more highway/mileage friendly, but in that size range...
If my dies are 14 threads to the inch then 1/4 turn is .0178 inches of movement, correct? My thought that I've done in the past is to start at whatever fits in the magazine and see if it chambers then push the bullet into contact with the lands and then turn the die down the 1/4 from there. Now...
First , let me say , I am not trying to stir up any trouble with this post as it may offend some .....
Got this card in a box of misc. stuff at a garage sale . Were these cards common during WWII at stores in the USA ? Or something just this Drug Store made up ?
Any info on it would be great ...
I am curious about this Colt Commander Model. It has a SN beginning in CJ, The Colt SN can't be found on Colt's list. I have read that it's for a A1 commander but this gun has no A1 roll marks. I am thinking about buying it but I'd like to know a bit about it first. Help me out please.
I'm sure one of our guru's out there can answer this.
Is the accy draw only on 1 battery? I'm trying to figure if that's the case or I might have a dud battery... or not.
Scenario: I replaced both batteries back in May. Same brand, capacity and birthdate (fresh 04/23's). I haven't really been...
I sold a gun and the Buyer is an FFL
In the past I took my gun to a local FFL and had them ship to buyers FFL
This buyer who is an FFL wants to provide a shipping label and ship it directly to him, from me.
Is that legal? How does the transfer work.
I believe he is in AZ or Nevada
You know how the a g17 barrel will work in a g19 but the same barrel wouldn't work in a g26 because of different locking block.
Is that the same thing for 40 cal? i.e. g22/g23 v. G27
My brother called me in kind of a panic saying he couldn’t buy a lower in Washington state. Is there a workaround for this or is he SOL? I’m in Washington also but I’ve been out of the loop lately.
Thank you for reading my post.
I was doing some research and found that if someone owns an AR rifle and only and AR pistol upper (not a complete AR pistol), they can be considered to be in "constructive possession of an SBR". However, if they own both an AR rifle and an AR pistol, they can...
Thank you for reading post.
I recently learned that an AR pistol can legally be converted to a rifle (ofc removing pistol upper before installing a stock). I always thought an AR receiver was always a pistol or rifle based on the manufacturer.
What I'm wondering is that if someone bought...
When I've bought a gun in a store in the past, I've taken look at it, checked the fit, slide, action, etc. etc., then made the purchase. All normal stuff. This time, I've purchased a gun via the Sportsman's Warehouse site, where they're shipping it to my local store. In other words, when I go...
So, if I have a Rifle that Shoots One MOA at 100 yards,
Then I move Out to 1000 Yards.
The ONLY Variance Should be due to WIND, yes?
Or NO?
IF NO. What am I Missing?
Easy question today for my AR armorers:
Are the teardrop and small round (current) forward assist buttons interchangeable, i.e., will both work in the same upper?
Many thanks in advance.
