fun
Fun is the enjoyment of pleasure, particularly in leisure activities. Fun is an experience — short-term, often unexpected, informal, not cerebral and generally purposeless. It is an enjoyable distraction, diverting the mind and body from any serious task or contributing an extra dimension to it. Although particularly associated with recreation and play, fun may be encountered during work, social functions, and even seemingly mundane activities of daily living. It may often have little to no logical basis, and opinions on whether or not an activity is fun may differ. A distinction between enjoyment and fun is difficult but possible to articulate, fun being a more spontaneous, playful, or active event. There are psychological and physiological implications to the experience of fun.

I got my first real operational experience this past weekend in support of the Mountain Lakes 100 event. If a regular marathon isn't worth your time and and ultramarathon is not enough of a challenge you can run 100 miles of mountain trails between Olallie and Timothy Lake and back. Race details...

Just sitting up a little later than usual. Seems that my wife saw a news bulletin about a fleeing assault suspect who abandoned his motorcycle about a mile from us and is now on the run in the woods, which is where we happen to live. My two year old and six year old daughters, and my wife are...
Mods - not sure if this is the best place for this, but I couldn't find a more applicable location, feel free to move it if necessary.
Okay, I'm always interested in finding interesting things to shoot at, not just with guns, but with slingshots, blowguns, etc. Everyone knows reactive targets...
Do you guys have little shooting games you make up? Here are a few I like to do with friends:
22 rifle: Set up little green army men from 25 to 100 yards or so and use improvised shooting positions to knock down a set number of targets. Time it for stress. We take raw time and add a second...
