cylinder
A cylinder (from Greek: κύλινδρος, romanized: kulindros, lit. 'roller', 'tumbler') has traditionally been a three-dimensional solid, one of the most basic of curvilinear geometric shapes. It is the idealized version of a solid physical tin can having lids on top and bottom. Geometrically, it can be considered as a prism with a circle as its base.
This traditional view is still used in elementary treatments of geometry, but the advanced mathematical viewpoint has shifted to the infinite curvilinear surface and this is how a cylinder is now defined in various modern branches of geometry and topology.
The shift in the basic meaning (solid versus surface) has created some ambiguity with terminology. It is generally hoped that context makes the meaning clear. Both points of view are typically presented and distinguished by referring to solid cylinders and cylindrical surfaces, but in the literature the unadorned term cylinder could refer to either of these or to an even more specialized object, the right circular cylinder.
Instead buying an overpriced river Blackhawk conversion, I bought a cylinder and can now shoot 9mm from my .38/.357mag revolver.
I was going to get a spare cylinder for my S&W 27 but it was $70 and $350 to have it converted to 9mm. This ruger route was $100 shipped to my door.

Just picked up a new $&W 317 for the wife today. We went to the range, and shot around 80 rnds., and it seems like it's gonna be a really nice gun for her. She really likes the light weight, small frame, and the simplicity of a revolver.
I cleaned the barrel (steel liner) after we got back...
Went and lost the stupid cylinder spacer of my Taurus Gaucho. Worst part of the design of a great revolver.

Deer season will soon be upon us and this revolver would make a nice addition to your hunting kit. This is great for Grouse or for the mercy shot in the event that it's needed. This one belongs to my Mrs. and she has decided that she is through with hunting. When the word got out, the White...
Selling my lightly used Uberti 1858 with Howell arms 45LC conversion cylinder. Have only ran a little over one box of cowboy loads through it. As I’m selling it with the black powder cylinder installed it will not require an FFL background check. I’m also including what’s left of a box of 45LC...

S&W 629-3 1989 Hunter in 44 magnum 6" Barrel Unfluted w/box and all the accessories in the photos. I've never fired or cocked this revolver. Purchased some years back from a collector. Barely perceptible turning marks on a section of the cylinder.
Prefer to meet up in Tillamook but will travel...
I really like my 929 and having an 8-shot, but I also love shooting 38 special. I didn't want to buy another revolver so I fit a 627 cylinder for the 929. It works great! Thanks to Warren from Protocall Design and Enos forum for the pointers!
Smith and Wesson 617 cylinder and hand *NEW FACTORY TAKE-OFF*
I removed this from a new S&W 617-5, still has the factory grease on it. It has already been fitted to the hand, so no need to pay a gunsmith or do the tedious ratchet fitting.
