Appraisal and best advice for selling rare Colt 1911?

I have a rare 4 digit Colt M1911 issued in the first batch of 300 to the USMC in 1912 (serial number 35XX). I have about 3# of 30-06 brass with headstamps dating from 36 to 57. Are these collectable.? They certainly represent some interesting history. Thanks for any thoughts.
