blowback
Blowback is a system of operation for self-loading firearms that obtains energy from the motion of the cartridge case as it is pushed to the rear by expanding gas created by the ignition of the propellant charge.Several blowback systems exist within this broad principle of operation, each distinguished by the methods used to control bolt movement. In most actions that use blowback operation, the breech is not locked mechanically at the time of firing: the inertia of the bolt and recoil spring(s), relative to the weight of the bullet, delay opening of the breech until the bullet has left the barrel. A few locked breech designs use a form of blowback (example: primer actuation) to perform the unlocking function.
The blowback principle may be considered a simplified form of gas operation, since the cartridge case behaves like a piston driven by the powder gases. Other operating principles for self-loading firearms include delayed blowback, blow forward, gas operation, and recoil operation.
Interesting article discussing the weight needed for the bolt of a direct blow back action in various calibers:

The chart showing such things as 50 bmg needing a 50lb bolt is kind of entertaining.
Interesting to see the graphs. You can actually see the recoil from the round. Something you don’t get at all with a regular blowback.
If you don’t want to listen to the whole ordeal, skip to around 10 minutes in.
This is very lightly used I think only around 200 rounds.
Features:
Use in 9MM, 10MM, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP blowback AR systems.
Increases AR-15's dwell time in blowback setups
Quiets action (better for suppression)
10.3-10.5 oz actual weight (tungsten weights can vary slightly)
4 1/16" OAL...
For sale, airsoft Glock 19 gas blowback pistol
I used this for practice indoors, but no longer carry a Glock so I'm getting rid of this.
Features:
Realistic blowback (I would say feels like a .22)
Disassembles like a real Glock
Last round slide lock
Similar trigger feel/reset to a real Glock...
Realistic to the FNX45 except for the bang bang. Comes with two magazines and the propane accessories you need. Works very well. Shoots Airsoft bb's at 300-320 fps.
I will trade for 22lr.
Thanks!
Considering getting a full auto steel BB gun from umarex (does not use battery) but I want to disable the blowback portion to save co2 gas and reduce noise. So I'm tying to research it to see if it can be done before I buy.
Does anyone know how to disable the blowback/bolt or have any links to...
I bought these airsoft guns a few years ago because I love the real platforms... the M93 Raffica and HK45 are two of my favorite guns of all time. They were never used in an airsoft match and only fired once.
KWA blowbacks guns are outstanding quality for the money, these are no exceptions...
