44 magnum
The .44 Remington Magnum, or simply .44 Magnum (10.9×33mmR), and frequently .44 Mag, is a large-bore cartridge originally designed for revolvers. After its introduction, it was quickly adopted for carbines and rifles. Despite the ".44" designation, guns chambered for the .44 Magnum round, and its parent, the .44 Special, use 0.429 in (10.9 mm) diameter bullets.
The .44 Magnum is based on a lengthened .44 Special case, loaded to higher pressures for greater velocity (and thus, energy). The .44 Magnum has since been eclipsed in power by the .454 Casull, and most recently by the .460 S&W Magnum and .500 S&W Magnum, among others; nevertheless, it has remained one of the most popular commercial large-bore magnum cartridges. When loaded to its maximum and with heavy, deeply penetrating bullets, the .44 Magnum cartridge is suitable for short-range hunting of all North American game—though at the cost of heavy recoil and muzzle flash when fired in handguns, less so in carbines and rifles.

Selling two revolvers for my father in law. I’m not much of a revolver guy, so I’ll answer what I can.
First revolver is a Smith and Wesson 38. It was a duty gun trade in from an agency in California (where he worked as a cop for years). As is typical for a duty gun, it’s seen a fair amount of...

If you are looking for a model 744, then I saw one at Cut Above Pawn for $800 something (I don't remember the exact price - I think it was closer to $900).
IIRC it was a 6" barrel. I don't think it had any other barrel assemblies.
FWIW

For sale is my Ruger 44 magnum Kodiac Backpacker. I purchased it new in 2017 but have never fired it. It will pack a heck of a kick. I can throw in 40-50 rounds. Transfer/background at buyers expense in Salem at an ffl (preferably Ticklicker firearms). Thanks! Asking $750.
Up for grabs, Colt Anaconda 44 Magnum revolver. The weapon is in pretty nice shape with just a few handling marks. This is the Cadillac of revolvers with an extremely smooth double and single action squeeze. No box or extra's, its only the revolver.

So, I've been liking the .44 Magnum in various incarnations this year. The last acquisition is a lever-action carbine, with a 20" barrel, in said. Which brings me to my question: considering the difference in platforms, what factory loads would recommend? I'm thinking heavier loads would be...
