Rogue Valley Shooting Sports Association safety rules:
1. Each shooter must possess a season pass, access permitted identification card, or pay a Day Use Fee ($5 per shooter) before shooting and must display the validated Day Use Fee receipt or season pass on dashboard.
2. Unless reserved for training or otherwise stated all general shooting on Public Ranges will practiced from sitting or standing positions – NO prone, squatting, or kneeling shooting.
3. Follow cease-fire procedures. No handling of firearms when anyone is down-range.
4. Stay behind the designated firing line when anyone is shooting.
5. Hearing and eye protection are strongly recommended.
6. No alcohol or illegal drugs may be used or in possession on range property.
7. Prohibited targets include metal targets (other than RVSSA provided), glass items, pressurized containers, explosives, fruits, vegetables, other food items and non-decomposing items.
8. All targets must be inside of the range area and off of the walk-ways.
9. All vehicles must be in the parking area only.
10. Avoid ricochets. Targets should be placed in such a manner as to reduce hazardous ricochets.
11. Only shooters may collect their own spent cartridges (brass, steel, nickel, etc.) Spent cartridges forward of the Firing-Line may only be collected during cease-fire (clear firing-line) events. To minimize safety liability, all uncollected brass will be the property of RVSSA.
12. Put used targets and trash in garbage cans. Pick up what you shoot. To minimize safety liability, all uncollected targets, contents of garbage cans and dumpsters are the property of RVSSA.
13. Report vandalism and safety violations!
14. Children must be supervised at all times.
15. Unlawful possession or use of firearms will be reported to law enforcement.
16. Violation of range rules may result in eviction and/or criminal prosecution.

What we offer:
Archery range, 25 yard pistol, 50 yard pistol/rifle, 100 yard pistol/rifle, 200 yard, skeet shoot, rimfire, training/competition area, AND a 600 yard range. Each area is separated and has a berm at the end. Each firearm area has benches and/or tables.
Hours: 8am - about an hour before sunset, 7 days a week.
Rates:
$5 per shooter, $25 per yearly individual pass, $45 yearly family pass.
The Range:
The range is split into two sections: 1. the long range historic Camp White 600 yard, 2. Archery range / 25-200 yard firearms range. Beyond the ranges listed above is the training / competition range. This is open to the public on specified days (see calendar on RVSSA site, or call the range) for steel shoot, IPSC, and other training / competition classes. If you are new to the range, when you visit for the 1st time you will pull up to a booth right off of Kershaw. Any questions you have can be answered by the Range Safety Officer. All RSO's will have a bright orange hat and bright orange vest.

You MUST read and follow all range safety rules before/while using either range; You must respect these rules and use them while on RVSSA property. SAFETY ON ANY SHOOTING RANGE BEGINS AND ENDS WITH YOU.
You must have the attention and a confirmation of each shooter in your designated range before walking past the firing line and entering the firing area.
To do this, each shooter must yell "CLEAR" *BEFORE* walking out to set up target(s) and have confirmation from every shooter in your range. If a shooter has his/her earplugs in and can't hear for any reason, signal those next to this person to get their attention. It may seem like common sense that if someone walks out onto the firing area that you stop shooting, put your firearm on safe, and set it down, but ACCIDENTS AND STUPIDITY DOES AND WILL HAPPEN WHEN RULES ARE IGNORED OR FORGOTTEN. It has happened to me personally. Placing a target out and a shooter began firing! Even worse, it was a person being "trained" by someone! I am fortunate to be alive after that situation and I am NOT shy about confirming CLEAR and HOT with every single shooter so I know they're aware of what is going on. Clearly I did not confirm that the so called "instructor" nor their trainee heard me. Very stupid of me, deadly stupid. These two shooters also were NOT paying attention to their surroundings and checking fellow shooters every so often.
To prevent injury or death on any range in this instance DO NOT walk past the firing line onto the firing area UNTIL EVERY SINGLE SHOOTER HAS CONFIRMED "CLEAR", SETS THEIR FIREARMS DOWN WITH THE BOLT / SLIDE OPEN, AND ALL HANDS ARE OFF AND AWAY FROM ALL FIREARMS.
Before even touching your firearm each shooter must yell and confirm "HOT" with EVERY other shooter in your area. Only after EVERY SHOOTER has confirmed "HOT" may you touch your firearm and safely fire down range.
