Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Shouldn’t be offering Cerakote and bluing
Had to bring my rifles elsewhere to be redone after almost 2 years in his shop. Cerakoted parts that shouldn’t of been and had dust nibs and poor coverage in spots. Had my rifles for almost 2 years. What a nightmare. Handed me my 30-30 in a box disassembled with a big grin on his face then jumped in my face when I called him out on it. The rifle was a family heirloom given to me as a kid by my deceased grandfather. What a nightmare.

This review is mostly one big lie! You have zero credibility. You were in my shop leaning over my counter screaming in my face cussing me out calling me an "F-ing POS" and a "fat man" like a juvenile and you wanted to "take this outside" and tried to fight me threatening me with physical violence. All in front of my customers and your son. The multiple cameras caught everything and the witnesses confirmed it. You are mentally unstable and had you not already taken posession of your firearms before you absolutly lost your mind, I would have refused the transfer under 1639 and transferred your guns to the police. You should not own a firearm. The police who watched the video after you left disagree with your "jumping at you" statement. Everyone else who has watched the video laughs and cannot believe that you, a grown man, acted the way you did. Have a nice day :)

Your a joke Jon. You jumped in my face and I didn’t back down and this is your only excuse for doing terrible work on my rifles. Thanks buddy, they are in good hands now and I will have to pay twice for them to get repaired from the poor work you did on them.

Does it take almost 2 years to try and Cerakote a 30-30? Zero return calls, zero updates. Is a freshly blued 300 savage supposed to have surface rust starting to show up on it fresh outta your shop? Damn right I was livid when you brought out a box of parts with a grin on your face and jump in my face when I call you out on it, who wouldn’t be?
I have purchased several items from this shop. Definitely worth the drive to deal with a nice guy running a shop with great customer service. I've been very pleased with prices as well.

Thanks! Always good to have you in the shop, stop by anytime!
Jon posted a nice rifle on the forum. He was quick to send more pictures. I bought it and he shipped it to me the next day. It’s better than described and a great price. Thank you.

Let me start off by saying I've done business with them at gun shows in the past and always had a good experience, and other people i know have used their services with no problem.

I dropped off a rifle with them on December 5th with a screw broken off for the scope mount. I dropped the rifle off with the owner and was told he wouldn't be able to look at it until the next week and I had no problem waiting.

A couple weeks went by and I still hadn't heard anything so I called them and got the story about them having issues getting the extracted screw and that they would have to drill it out and retap it. No problem, I tell them to go a head with it.

Now another month has gone by and its now towards the of January and I call them again asking for an update and I talk to someone different on the phone. I ask him whats going on with my rifle and he tells me that he knows about it but there still hasn't been any progress made. I tell him that if they aren't going to work on it that I was just going to come pick it up, he then proceeds to tell me that he was going to get it set up on the lathe right away. Okay, I'll give them the chance.

Now today. another 2 and a half weeks later, I called again asking the status of my rifle, over two months after I dropped it off. I again got the gentlemen I spoke to last time and asked about my rifle.
He then says "oh yeah I know that one, let me check on it" he comes back to tell me that it hasn't been drilled out or even touched since the last time I spoke to him. I told him that I will be picking up my rifle tomorrow and taking it to another gunsmith.

I understand having backlogged work and other projects going but 2 and a half months to drill a hole, especially after telling me that they were going to start working on it after the second to last time I called is BS. I will not be bring them any further business.

This review is not entirely accurate & has been reported as such. You are free to pick up your rifle anytime you want and we will not charge you for the time we have spent on your rifle trying to get the screw out.Several issues that have been out of our control have pushed several jobs back on top of our normal growing backlog and we apologize for that,we are only human. Read what the old gunsmith Harry M. Pope has to say about situations like this and we wish you the best of luck in the future

He had my stuff almost 2 years. Terrible communication and refinishing skills
Jon is wonderful to work with. Friendly, knowledgeable and fair on his prices. If you need anything done he can do it. From custom builds, cerakote or laser etching. He has become my go to. He is currently working on a AR-10 build for me. I didn't want to take this project on by my self but didn't want to purchase a complete rifle. Jon is building it cheaper and better than I could have gotten from the store.

While I haven't had any gunsmithing work done here, we did go with NW Custom Firearms for the laser etching of the Northwest Firearms AR15 lower receivers as well as the subsequent sales and transfers to our members. Jon did a great job, highly recommended.
