Tornado Technologies

This firm was recommended for threading of barrels, of which, historically, I have had a decent number done. Responses were either very slow or nonexistent. Examples:

Messaged 2/20/2014: No response.
Messaged 6/23/2014: No response.
Messaged 2/14/2015: Got a response 5/26/2017. That is not a typo; over two years later, by which time I had that project done.
Messaged 12/20/2018: No response.

More recently they listed some fully transferable machine-guns on Gunbroker and I corresponded, briefly, with them here concerning said. In light of the poor communication, I opted to go with other vendors for happy-switch equipped firearms.

I have not used their services so i can only speak to how i was treated. One of the employees purchased a pistol from me. Both gentlemen in the shop were cordial and professional. The purchase and transfer went smoothly.

Like others here. I too was promised a short turn around, 3-4 weeks. Today, as of writing this review is week 12-14. I brought my rifle to the to be cut and threaded on August 3rd 2018. Today is November 2nd 2018. Yep 3 months. I called once around the 2 month timeline to get no return call. I emailed shortly after, again no response. My third attempt to contact, an email, was responded to. I also called that day, October 25th and spoke to Goldy who said all machines were tied up and that they would perform the service the next week. Well today is Friday the 2nd of Nov the next week and, nothing. I have not received word of completion or otherwise and will be personally stopping by to pick up my rifle completed or not.

I do not recommend this company at all. They are too busy doing other things it seems to complete the services they WERE known for. I say known for as this company was highly recommended in past conversations. I think they either always weren't that great or they drastically went down hill.

Do NOT send your barrel to these people...I just went through the worst internet experience in my life... No returned calls for months and for the final insult an additional $25 to get my barrel back...Poorly rated for a reason...GO elsewhere

I've had Tornado Tech thread a few barrels for me and they are top notch. They helped me out with a problem of my own creation and gave me advice about how to prevent it in the future. The depth of knowledge in this shop is impressive.

I wanted Tornado to thread the barrel of my Remington M700 and attach a new Bolt Handle. I was told this would take a couple weeks. Dropped it off February 5th. In fact, I was told to get it in ASAP because they were ready to run other 700s.

In March I called and inquired about the status. It was on a "short list" of rifles to be finished before the owner went to Australia. The next week I called, my rifle was not done.

Called on April 7 and was told that it would be done in the next few days. Went in April 16. Absolutely no work had been done. She brought out my barrel and receiver but, the rifle had been disassembled and parts were in the safe. She said she could finish it by the next evening or at most the following day, April 18.

April 17, got a call from her saying the soonest it would be done was next Friday. All of their machines were currently tied up with big orders. Told her that I would come pick it up tomorrow. She said she would "try" to get someone to reassemble it.
