Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Dan is a smart man and him helping with the TYMPPP is an awesome thing!
Service team is top notch.
Place is well kept, clean and animals are welcomed. Being cuddled by a cute dog over their is awesome!
Cons
Headquartered in Washington which is really no fault to them, politicians are going to politician things.
Bought an upper and minuteman ammo not too long ago last year or so before the parts ban. Love minuteman ammo for my .357 Magnum 686+ specifically their 125gr offering. You want to smack something hard and let them know it as much as your hand? That's the load to go with.
Found Sporting Systems when looking to complete the now required firearm "training" requirement. Great outfit and easy to-follow FREE online course. They've also been a 2A advocate and past sponsor of an event I'm running on May 4th at the Granite Falls Sportsman's Club supporting Boy Scouts and shooting sports.
Free and easy programs to fulfill training requirements
Cons
Somewhat expensive
Sporting Systems was very responsive and helpful when looking for a new gun. When undecided, they provided a list of recommendations to look into. They also have free, easy, and quick web-based training to fulfill legal requirements to purchase firearms.
The only downside was their prices. Though maybe fair for a single shop, they were somewhat high in general. Transfers now appear to be $50.
Just took the online class to comply with WA state purchase requirements. I thought the class was comprehensive, but didn't needlessly drag out some of the self evident things. I appreciate the time and effort it took to put together. The certificate you get looks cool. If your FFL doesn't accept it, time to find a different FFL.
I have used these guys in the past for my I-1639 required training for the State of Washington. I just did the new required training for the new laws they keep passing on us. Thanks for keeping it free, its much appreciated. We visit the coast every summer, so I'll make sure to stop in while I'm passing through.
I walked into Sporting Systems today in the off chance they may have a particular firearm I wanted. The young man behind the counter, Chase, immediately offered assistance without me asking. A quick look up on the computer, they didn't have the firearm, but they could order it right away. It will be awhile before I can get it, but between shipping and the restrictive firearms laws in Washington, that sure isn't the fault of the retailer.
I called to find out about the safety certificate & other such new info encompassing the new 2024 legislation.
Forget the fellow's name, but he was concise & very informative.
I appreciate Dan's passion and dedication to uphold our constitutional freedoms as described by our founding fathers. To protect our families, property and opinions. I moved here from California for business and had never owned a gun. I spent two months getting familiar with Washington's gun laws reviewed every firearms manufacturer and models. Consumed everything I could to be as informed as possible. Every shop I visited felt so sad and heavy in contrast to Oregon which seemed like Disneyland in contrast. When I visited sporting systems it was a breath of fresh air. I purchased my first handgun through them for concealed carry. My wife and I got our carry permits together. Sporting systems back in November proactively provided online certification to prepare for the upcoming legislative constraints. They're not the cheapest but not the most expensive. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, quality service and support. They are a class act and much respect to Dan for navigating through the rough waters of state legislature's constant borage on our rights. I haven't used them for a transfer, but will soon, especially due to the fact that they're a Stuccato distributor. Highly recommend. Keep up the great work. RJ
good people with good selection. definitely the best place locally for high end merchandise and well informed staff. with all the new Washington restrictions they've stayed up on their business and continue to do the best they can with these significant changes.
I've been going to this store for several years now, since they were in the original building in downtown Vancouver. Ever since then the staff have always been friendly and knowledgable about the products they sell and the current laws that seems to be changing in our state. The owners are often seen working on the floor with their staff. They always take the time to chat with customers and make sure the customer is receiving great service. They also have one of the best inventories around. Transfers, new purchases, and help with NFA items are a breeze. Highly recommend this store.
"Exceptional experience at this gun store! The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect firearm that suited my needs. The store had an impressive selection of guns and accessories
I was impressed with the selection of firearms for sale as well as the friendly, knowledgeable sales person I spoke with. It's nice to have a local dealer like this in the area!
