Pros
  • Great to deal with
I came up from Oregon to complete a transfer with a Washington resident. Immediately upon entering, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The transaction was quick and we had good conversation. They were great to deal with and would definitely use this shop again.
Nickel and dime you for everything that they possibly can. Just ridiculous!

Pros
  • No appointment necessary
Cons
  • Unexpected fees due to “their” policies
FFL transfer fee $20 (expected). Steep $35 holding fee until background results come back, unexpected. They won't release your firearm to you even after background approval unless you provide a gun lock or buy one from them is just ridiculous! Offered to disassemble the firearm for transport, that was refused too. Got to buy their trigger or cable lock in order to walk out with it. The same gun locks that are included with nearly every firearm you buy and that are given for free by local police precincts and are available to everyone. Without doubt most of us have them laying around. Of course they don't tell you that part when they notify you of the approved background check when they call you. They'll probably nickel and dime you for anything additional if they can come up with it. RW Pawn will try to make that extra revenue even if it means to fleece Their customers. Not cool

Pros
  • Low cost for transfer
After all the discussion regarding Tropics (issues with FFL renewal, etc.) lately, I suggest to a seller in WA state that we use a different FFL. He suggested RW. I am glad he did.

We entered the shop, got immediate friendly service while the shop was busy, and the transfer was only $20.

Caveat: First/only time I had been in there, Orygun resident, I don't buy in WA state often, but I would go there again.

Let me start this off by saying that I have done a lot of business with RW Pawn in the past but I won't ever again.

I went in there Tuesday to transfer a pistol and the owner thought I was trashing her business when I wasn't. I was telling the person I was getting the pistol from why I used RW and another local business. I said there was another store in Vancouver I didn't use because they had problems with the ATF. My transfers at brand X kept getting delayed and that's why I didn't use them. Delays never happened at other FFL dealers. After I said that RW got audited a few years ago the owner, a woman I had never seen in there before came out and said they weren't going to do the transfer because I was trashing their business which I wasn't. I had made many gun purchase there plus half a dozen transfers. The person I was with was in as much shock as I was. I don't know what their problem is but I will never do business with them again or their other store America's Pawn.

If you're going to do a transfer, I highly suggest Tropics. We walked in and they did the transfer no problem.
