Decent selection
decent prices
Cons
Have had a few bumpy customer service interactions
Pretty good shop but kind of small. The owner seems like a great dude and most of the guys working there are cool and helpful. I did get vaguely accused of shoplifting a magazine which I did not enjoy but overall have had positive experiences.
Rainier Arms is one of the biggest names and best retailers in the firearms industry, particularly regarding the AR-15 platform. Have spent many hours perusing their website and it's always a treat to walk the showroom.
I have ordered several times from them. They have the best price on Okay Industries E2 textured 30 round mags. when there was a glitch on their order page, they where able and willing to help me through the order over the phone instead. I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.
I've used Rainier arms a number of times over the years, starting with a Noveske upper I got from them many moons ago. Since then I've had them customize an AR upper for me, and although I am no longer in the AR game, Rainier is still my go to company when I'm looking to get a new True Precision barrel for my pistols. They don't always have a huge selection in stock, but that is not their fault, it's the limited quantities that True Precision send out. When Rainier does have them, their selection is as good as anyone's, and their prices are right in line with the competitive market. I will continue using them.
Service was spot on: polite, efficient, knowlegable
Selection above average considering the other shops in the area.
Cons
A little pricey.
Went in for a semi-automatic rifle, a glock 48 and a p365, only purchased the last item there. Took it home in under a week. Still waiting for the first two from another shop.
So usually I have a go-to person for gunsmithing which is Eric. Well, I didn't get Eric this one time I brought in my AR Pistol to get something done and I had specifically asked for him. Someone else came out and brought my AR pistol and the muzzle device was not put back as it was and then said some BS about the timing. OK. Why does the OEM muzzle device (A2 flash hider) have no gap. I docked a star off for that. Other than that, the place is priced average (some accessories like ACOG are priced higher than other retailers, while some firearms are fairly priced).
Not going to get much into it, but they have changed a lot in the last year and cannot keep things inline. To include the sight they drilled into my barrel and their warehouse operations.
