I've been here a few times during my trips to the coast. I purchased a couple accessories today and they were generous with a discount on a used magazine and loader. I left pretty happy and will return the next time I'm on the coast.
Suprisingly good selection of ammo, good customer service
Bought one of the guns they had on consignment there, Aaron at Lincoln City made it an easy transaction. Also bought some ammo there, and was surprised at the decent selection including some brands and calibers I don't usually see in other stores.
I even saw a few bottles of powders on the shelf, but can't remember what kind.
Stopped by randomly when passing through on a coastal trip. Well stocked on much of what you might want including some holosun red dots, lasers, quite a bit of ammo, and even some reloading components.
Guns:
They had lots of AR rifles/pistols and quite a few stripped lower receivers.
They had an above average lever gun and revolver selection.
Wished that they had more used handguns.
Reloading:
If you need brass check here. They had tons of clean range brass; especially 9mm, 5.56, 38 special and 45 ACP.
They had bricks of CCI primers on the shelf. Pretty much all small primers, mostly CCI 400 and 500 with some 550's as well. They did have some CCI Large Pistol about to be put out as well. VERY limited bullet selection and no powder.
I was introduced to Bruce's shop by a friend and haven't looked back. He and the crew go the extra mile to get me what I need and turned around same day (I drive two hours to get there). Prices are better than the big box stores on most things, they will special order and they have a good selection of used firearms too.
I have been using LCSG for years. Bruce, Lisa and their minions are a pleasure to deal with. He makes an effort to sell ammo & reloading gear at a reasonable price, trying for fair retail, and avoiding the ridiculous prices we all see at some stores. I believe inter person transfers are only $25 + $12.
In the area with my wife and stopped by in between antique stores. They had a huge selection of firearms and ammo I haven't seen since before the pandemic. Prices seemed reasonable too. An older gentlemen was very jovial and helpful. He helped me look at a few items and we discussed things I'd be interested in that they could order. I told him I was from out of town but would gladly be willing to pay for the shipping to my FFL if he could find it. After a bit of further discussion he said he wouldn't order it because I seemed like the kind of guy that would have a look at it and say no thanks. Once he said that, I thanked him for his time and left. He doesn't know me and doesn't know I would never go back on something I ordered at an agreed upon price, but that kind of attitude left me cold and dissuaded me from ever returning.
If you go there, enjoy the selection and the prices, but I wouldn't bother with ordering through them and I'd probably avoid any discussion more than what it took to buy something they had in stock. Judging from the other reviews, maybe we just got off on the wrong foot, but I won't be going there again.
UPDATE: Follow up visit July 2024. Due to the popularity of this place and the great reviews, decided to stop back in while in the area. Went in with my 12 year old son to have a look and there were no other customers in the shop at the time. Got to talking guns with one of the counter guys and he showed us a few things. Every time we asked to see a gun, he would clear it and then immediately sweep us when he'd hand us the gun. Every single time without fail. When putting away one of the MP5s we had just looked at, he even stood there talking to us while seemingly unaware the muzzle was pointed at his head for several minutes. We wandered around the store a bit more and another rifle caught my eye near another employee who was looking at his phone. We asked to see a rifle, he unlocked it and handed it to us, and then walked away to another part of the store to show another employee something on his phone leaving us unattended with the rifle. While I can understand a certain level of trust of the customer or having to momentarily turn your attention to something else, we were left alone at the counter with the unlocked gun for several minutes and had to wait for the other employee who kept sweeping us to come by and put the rifle away. The prices were pretty good and they had some cool guns but I had to spend several minutes reviewing the basics of firearm safety with my son after we left the store. Overall the staff were way too casual in their handling of the weapons and it just reinforces my previous decision to steer clear of the store in the future.
Best prices, small shop competes and can usually beat big stores
Bruce is the man, can still help while being on 4 different phone calls
This is my go to shop for years, so much, Bruce knows the pin on my card, I make the drive from Salem for this place. The employees are great, knowledgeable, and willing to help you. They do get busy so if there is a lot of people (usually is considering), be patient they make it personable.
They also have a Layaway option. Makes affording those special ones so much easier.
Bruce is awesome!!! very helpful along with reasonable prices. made many trips to his store. he usually has items sometimes hard to find and if not he does his best to get on the phone and check with his sources. He has always done good by me.
