Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Been a member here for years. Always get a lane without having to wait. Just wish there was an option to shoot at closer or multiple ranges instead of just 50 feet. Overall a nice little range.
close to home, members who i have chatted with have been great. paper targets, hearing and eye protection available for purchase.
right now with covid issues 1/2 hour goes by fast but allows more members to use facality
Cons
can get smokey if using lead bullets with busy lanes,
For the most part really enjoy the local access to this facility. Has been kept clean and organized. Never had any issues Just remember to keep your muzzle pointed down range and finger off trigger until pointed at target. :}
Your fellow members depend on your attention to detail.
I've been a member here for a couple of years and I think it's a fantastic place to shoot. No, you can't do all your internet tacticool drills here, so the other members won't know that you really should be on a SWAT team somewhere, or what a badass you truly are. However, it's a great place to drop in, fire off a couple of boxes and leave, which is what a range is actually all about. It's very inexpensive to join. The rules make sense. I've never had a problem getting a lane. They don't sell you anything. Shooting is the inexpensive hobby it's meant to be here. Your own gun, own ammo, own target, and the lane you already paid for out of your original membership fee. No add ons! No "You must buy this from us" No "Sure you're a 'member' but you still have to pay lane fees to shoot here" nonsense.
At JCGC you get a card key for the door, can stay as long as you'd like, can bring a free guest, and use your own ammo. Doing some work on a pistol and want to shoot a mag or two through it but have to wait because your 'membership' range is $50 just to walk in the door, even though you've already paid monthly/yearly dues? Here, you can actually just walk in, check the work you've done and leave for $0.00.
Though they tout EPA standards, I have my reasons to question the safety of long term effects of shooting there. Target frames must be fully extended thus 50' only,
I belonged to JCB for a few years, I quit as the membership became past affordable. The equipment was being updated, and repaired regularly(though you may see this as a positive, it meant multiple breakdowns, even of the updated stuff. Many times the lanes were taken up by classes, the rules say only six of the ten lanes can be used by a class, not enforced. Some days I would go and the place was being cleaned and thus no shooting "come back later" not an option for me I went when I could.
