This shop is definitely up there in my rankings of places worthy of being a one-stop shop for firearms needs. They have good stock, fair/average prices, extensive services - including the indoor range with rentals and training, and most importantly GREAT hours! I'm not living in the area anymore, but I still go there every time I'm in town.
This is one of the nicest indoor ranges I have ever been to (and I have been to a lot). Super friendly staff will help you with anything, either in the pro shop or on the range. An annual membership isn't too expensive plus you don't pay any transfer fees with the membership (to include NFA items)

I started going into Independence since I moved from Oregon. This is an awesome, clean shop with great customer service and selection. Love the shooting range & the selection of rental firearms. Definitely fun shooting the 50cal there!
Update....did a transfer through them and didn't realize they charge $50 for a fee. A bit steep but I stand firm with my previous statement, a great place to do business with a good selection of products.
I've bought one firearm and many other random items at IIS. The gun was priced really well, and was the best price I could find the area. My favorite part is the indoor shooting range. I try to shoot at the indoor range at least once a month. You can also rent machine guns, and a 50 caliber rifle.
