Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
We went in and it took for ever to get a staff person to help us (including the 2 of us, there were 3-4 customers in the store). Then, when we did get a staff person to help us, he; 1) thought girls didn't know anything about firearms, and 2) was telling us things that were incorrect about the firearm that we wanted to look at. (Like telling us that it was a different model than what was engraved on the side of the gun*.)
Plus, everything was overpriced. Definetily taking advantage of their customers with "pandemic pricing".
*Which would make sense with the Glock 19X being a combination of the 17 and the 19, but this was a revolver.
I just wanted to give a big thanks and some appreciation to I-5 Guns in Lacy, Wa.
On Saturday I did a trade with a member on this board and because he was a ways past Olympia and I was a ways south of Tacoma (Bremerton) we decided on I-5 Guns as a meeting place to do the Transfers. I called ahead, no appointment needed a flat 30$ transfer fee. Not the best transfer price, but surely about the average. I set a threshold in my mind and 30$ was the max I was ever willing to pay for transferring a firearm.
Anyways we agree to meet at 11:30 on Saturday 12 January Shotgun for a pistol so we both had a transfer fee. We both arrived a few mins early went in. Turned over our firearms and headed over to the computer to start the online part of the transfer. While standing in line one of the gentlemen hand us both a receipt saying 0$ due. At that moment I thought the other guy had already paid. Turns out I-5 guns extends a 100% discount (free transfer) the 2nd Saturday between 11-12pm. This is their 2nd amendment special discount. Generally if I get good conversation while waiting to transfer a gun is about what I expect. At I-5 this particular time I got the good conversation and a free transfer. Win-Win!.
I want to thank I-5 guns for doing this. It is much appreciated. I will keep I-5 guns in mind when I am looking for my next firearm. Who knows, there may be a shockwave in my future.
