Gun store employees have an interesting environment to stay positive in. The gentleman who helped me did all my paperwork online for the 2 guns I purchased yesterday. Was even willing to put me on a list for a specific additional Handgun I have been looking high and low for.
There are some stores in the area that are just too big for their britches (at least the employees maybe not the owners).
Called Big J's in Orting the day after my wife and I flew back home from Juneau and we were beat. They just happened to have a pistol I have been searching all over the the place locally and of course online. They put my name on it and held it until I could get up there the next morning!
Asked them while I was there if by happenstance they had any other fun stuff like a .17 HMR and I was stunned that he reaches around the corner on the rifle shelf and says well we just got these in a few days back and have been waiting since FEB 2020 for that order to arrive. It was exactly what I had been searching for diligently for sometime without any success. Well my luck changed yesterday!
Big J's has the same issues as everyone else in this environment. Sure I got lucky but the difference was apparent in their willingness to help.
Good service and good people. Average retail pricing... If they have it usually I just buy it here, even if it's a few bucks more. Mainly because they're locally owned, not no huge box store. Plus i hate driving into Tacoma or Puyallup getting stuck in traffic and wasting $$ gas.
