Completed a two firearms background check and FFL transfer. Fed-Ex'd both firearms to them direct from Symrna GA manufacturer. Each were shipped within a couple days of the other and held until I was notified by sender that they had arrived. Tuesday afternoon paperwork and phone call from Jeff by 5p same day letting me know BGC had cleared. Call in to OSP versus computer FICS, or some combination is time consuming on their part, but worth the fees. Had my new safe additions back home by 630p. Thanks!
Great experience, lowest cost for fastest transfer

Pros
Lowest Transfer cost, Phone Transfer vs computer wait list
Gun deals are great but not the wait. My last transfer at BiMart took about two weeks.
What if you can get a great deal and no wait? Order online and ship to A Cut Above Pawn. My new pistol arrived today, I called and confirmed they had it. Drove there, filled out the 4473, paid the $20 + $10, and they called the OSP. What I wasn't expecting was they stayed on the line and got me my pistol in about 20 min. I know several gun stores are calling and holding which is great service but I don't know anyone else with a lower price for a FFL transfer.
These guys are great.
I used to come in almost weekly to do transfers with board members. Went quite a while before coming back and the staff recognized me as a frequent flyer.
Rather than doing the NICS online they called, eliminating wait time. Great transfer spot.
Had the best transfer experience in a while last night and had to share.
I arrived shortly before seller and the guys there got started right away on my paperwork and putting a call into the BGC line. Seller arrived and we finished paperwork shortly before our call was taken. Another 5 or 10 minutes and we were done and I was headed home with a new toy!
It was so nice to be able to be done in one and not have to make a return trip!!
Thanks again 'A Cut Above' is right!
I recently sold a firearm to a member. He suggested using this location for the transfer. Upon arrival, I remembered that I had met another member here pre-pandemic to purchase my first handgun. Both visits were painless and efficent. It's a bit of a drive to get there from Portland, but both times it has been worth the effort for a smooth transaction.
I have been going to A-Cut-Above for longer than I've lived in the area and always have, at worst, neutral experiences. They post their prices and stick to the script. I have never been surprised by anything here and usually the experience is pleasant.
I have done more transfers than purchasing firearms here but as of late they have had a pretty good selection of musical instruments, and have purchased a few guitars and amps from them.
The prices seem a little on the higher side but that's the price we have to pay to have retail brick-and-mortar stores available to us. Also, it could very well be that their prices are very reasonable and I am unreasonbly expecting prices from 20 years ago.
Best place for gun transfers in the PNW! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They buy and sell used guns for very fair prices.
I do all of my transfers at ACAP. This is the best place to do gun transfers FTF. They are extremely helpful and get transfers going fast and charge a very reasonable amount of money for transfers.
They also purchase your used guns for a fair price so this is the best shop to look for milsurp and other used firearms.
Very minor con is they don’t have space to hold a private party transfer if background check takes time.
This place is great. No hassles in the FFL background check process. Will receive mail order items that require a background check and make the process easy as possible. Only $20 for transfer + $10 for the BGC, cheaper than most places!
People here are always cool and willing to help and also pretty fast to help even if it's busy. do you know any reason I knocked them? Selection is because they're a pawnshop and not a gun shop but for a pawnshop they're pretty awesome for a gun shop don't have the election.
Been here multiple times for both transfers and purchasing. Have done 4-5 transfers here plus them handling my CMP order and also finding a cheesegrater Mossberg 500 for me. I point all my local friends here for FFL service.
These guys are my go-to FFL dealer. They know what they're doing and always have some fun stuff to browse while the paperwork goes through. Highly recommend!
I have used A Cut Above Pawn to handle the FFL paperwork for a private party purchase of a used handgun from a friend. The staff made the transfer easy.
I come here a couple of times a week just before heading home from work. John and the crew are awesome. I can't recommend them enough to newcomers and old-timers!
