Pros
  • Normally decent selection, easy to deal with.
Cons
  • Can't think on any.
Have dealt a bit with Good Guys since we moved South. Haven't been in much since the "plandemic" hit, unfortunately. So truly no idea on there CURRENT inventory. Likely just as everywhere else tho. Doing the best they can...

The Good:
I've been to GGG current location many times. Purchased a gun there once, took their CHL class a few years ago. Any time I go in GGG I try to speak with Dan, who seems to be in his 50's, average height, thin build, short hair. He may or may not be the owner. I have always had a positive experience with him. He is helpful, knowledgeable, and never rude when I've been in there.
They have a GOOD selection of handguns.
They have less than Sportsman's Warehouse, but what they do have are ALL popular handguns with a few hard to find handguns that you won't find at Sportsman's Warehouse or Big R (now called "Coastal").
As for rifles, I wish they gad more. They usually have a couple of each popular type, lever action, bolt action, semi auto, shotguns, and sometimes a couple hard to find or les likely to find elsewhere (Remington 700 Police, SKS / maybe a couple foreign rifles etc), maybe a Henry lever action etc.

As for gear, well GGG has more gear and parts than they do firearms if that tells you anything. LOTS of holsters, slings, magazines, ammo, AR parts / accessories, reloading supplies, targets, etc. They also have some pepper spray items and I believe a nice looking taser, if not more than one type.

Any questions, give them a call:

The bad:
I have heard of some bad experiences there from quite a few people, and I have even witnessed it. One friend went in with his wife and children with intentions of buying a firearm. He looked in the glass cases while no one asked him if he needed help or wanted to see anything. An employee looked at him but that is the most serrvice he received. They waited a while and then left a bit irritated. The place wasn't even busy at all.

Another friend went in. He wanted to look at different firearms. He asked to look at one, and seemed as though he was bothering the employee. He asked to see another, and the employee says "It's the same thing as what you just looked at!", even though it was a different brand and model. Similar style, perhaps. But that is obviously no way to "sell" a product or "service" potential customers. He seemed to be bothering the employee so he did not ask to look at any more firearms. I have actually had this same experience. Felt as though I was bothering an employee by asking to see a couple pistols and was told one is the same as another, even though they were different guns.

That being said, it seems as though the majority of complaints involve the elderly man, or possibly the bigger guy, both employees (or ex employees for all I know).

Pros
  • I have always had excellent service here. Gun prices are good, people are nice. I buy most new guns here. I do my research, so don't ask a lot of dumb questions. But they are always open and helpful with my "smart" questions.
Cons
  • If you want to hang out and BS, go elsewhere. They've heard it all, and frankly, don't want to hear more...neither do I....
Top pick as my "go to" gun store here.

I have bought many guns @ GGG.

Prices are good, sometimes the lowest, sometimes not, usually competitive if nothing else, and they are always pleasant and helpful and they have something called, uh, I THINK it's called, uh?

I've heard it called customer service, although I experience it rarely at most stores.:D

I'd rather pay a little more in some instances, and know I will receive GREAT CService.

I was at Good Guys twice this summer. I was absolutely shocked that they actually had a Kel-Tec PF9. I've looked all over, and this gun just seemed unobtainable. I was almost ready to order one online sight unseen mostly due to the price over all the other small 9mm guns, but Good Guys had one, and the cheapest price I've ever seen one, so I bought it. Their new store on Crater Lake Ave is much nicer than the old store.

I have dealt with GOOD GUYS GUNS off and on for many years.

They are a good bunch of guys (really). Always friendly, and helpful. They make you feel welcome in their store, not like a would be shoplifter like some other shops I have been in.

They always have a good stock on hand, although their prices are a bit high compared to other dealers.

They have recently moved to another location in Medford. I have yet to visit the new location. I am hoping the new store is larger than the old one. Much of the time you could barley move in the old shop, there was so much stuff everywhere.

Great business to deal with.
