Was at the range yesterday. Putting in some time with the Taurus TX22 Competition slide, trying to get it to 100% or there off.
After a good brick or so I went from center punching a 8" plate at 15 yards to hitting everything behind the plate.
There was no rhyme or reason to where the bullets were hitting. High right, low left, left of plate, on plate. Just everywhere really.
So, I'm thinking I cooked the red dot.
On the TX22 competition model or slide, the optic mount is right above the chamber essentially. The mount is aluminum, the Holosun is aluminum.
The barrel was hot, like uncomfortable to touch hot, much less even attempt to hold.
The dot was the same. It was as hot as the barrel. Hurt to adjust using the buttons.
So, is this a big issue or is there any way to get around this?
Chatting up the ROs brought up polymer mount of polymer optic.
Are there red dots more suited for heat?
Thanks!
