I do that; look & look & look - sometimes for years, even decades (I've always wanted a Steyr Luxus with a Mannlicher stock) - and then stumble across it and plop down the $.

Not an impulse - just a sudden find of what I have thought about for a long time and couldn't afford - and/or a sudden (or not so sudden) influx of funds.
