HK 45c is expensive but probably one of the best along with the USP 45c. I just bought a full size XDm 45 and I love it. 13+1... Gen 4 cleck 21 would be nice too. both are full size. It's really preference. I like the guns that do good on them torture tests. I was impressed to see the results of the XD 20,000rnd torture test. Pretty amazing platform.

The 1911 torture tests seem to only cover how many rounds fired and not so much dirt/ice/sand etc. I don't know much about 1911's but I'm under the impression the design isn't made to withstand extreme abuse, water, mud etc. I found this: http://www.m1911.org/ezine/PressReleases/ParaOrdnanceTortureTest012008.htm Let me know if you have a better 1911 test, I'm interested
