Looking a link on here to a study the US Army did on how good meds are after their expiration dates. I remember getting the link off of here a couple of years ago. The study was where they the US. Army did a clinical study to see how long each individual med. that is most common antibiotics and most other common meds that a soldier may need long term to include antihistimines and stuff.

Does anyone have that link or remember where it was posted??

My wife is a Pharmacy Tech. and fills prescriptions on a daily basis. Her pharmacy also does pet meds and guess what, It all comes from the same bottles, it is the same exact stuff in a smaller dosage. Maybe just add some pet meds to your emergency kit just incase Fido or Fluffy becomes Ill. Funny thing is that many of the human drugs that are "safe" and used regularly would kill your pets so it seems to me its the other way around. Human meds are the ones to look out for!.

Most people don't realize it, but pharmacists are Doctors of Pharmacy and can prescribe drugs (at least in WA.) If you find an old-school pharmacist you may be able to put together a proper kit.

For world cruisers they will often prescribe and administer malaria shots etc, and even narcotics for use in an advanced medical kit.

There's also http://www.oceanmedix.com/ but they can be pretty spendy

You are wrong. The meds ARE the same thing. Spend some time working in a pharmacy and you'll see the same meds from the same big bottles going to fill scripts for both people and animals. Heck, just go ask your local Wal Mart pharmacist if they fill scripts for pet meds with the same meds they use to fill scripts for the human folk.

The meds are the same IF they originate in the 1st world. Buy stuff over the internet and you have NO idea what is actually in those pills. Just keep in mind that Chinese pet food sold in the US has killed at least 700 dogs and cats in the past 2 years

No, not 700. It killed nearly 12,000 the last episode with the melamine.
Also they pawned off Advil counterfeits that were made from lead road paint.
