I would pass. I own Rock Island Armory 1911. Rock Island was one of many companies commsioned to manufacture the 1911 back in WW2 when colt
was unable to keep up with the orders. Stick with the the more well known. Also a RIA can be had for around $400.

RIABnd1t02, Rock Island Armoury is completely different then Rock Island Arms (The spelling confuses people at times, RIAB, I think you probably own a Rock Island Arms 1911 made by Armscor)The Rock Island Armoury manufactured various military parts in WW11 including small arms, it was a Federal Arsenal. It no longer manufactures firearms. The Rock Island pistols sold now are made in the Phillippines by Armscor. The Rock Island Armscor/ or sometimes called Rock Island Armory pistols are first rate. The parts for the 1911 are interchangable with any 1911 including Colt. I have a Rock Island Tactical that I shoot along with my Colt 1911's and it is a real fine pistol. I personally would buy a Rock Island over the Mitchell, but that is me. Spad
