^^^My word, how did I miss this? It is NWF gold! I teach the concept of a reactionary gap and use "The 21 foot thingy" as a historical perspective. (Gosh that phrase is awesome.) I saw what @huzar noted but anymore it seems like clip/magazine, bullet/cartridge, rule/concept "thingys" abound. Words matter but I have enough work keeping my own house in order.
