I have an Imperial Mosin M91 that at some point became Finnish property and had the stock replaced. I noticed that towards the butt of the gun (on the left hand side) there's a wooden plug that seems to be going through a crack, with part of said crack curving around the very top of the stock. I've heard the Finns used to do repairs on stocks for "knots" in the wood but I'm not exactly sure what that would look like. Is this cause for concern and are there any steps I should take to remedy it? Pictures included for reference.
