Cerakote vs. Duracoat vs. Othercoat - Which is Better?

Will bead blasting an aluminum Sig P-series frame weaken it? I'd like to refinish it but don't know if I'd be hurting it by taking too much of the anodized aluminum off.

This is why you want to use a certified pro rather than try it yourself. The hard anodize is not completely removed. If anything it will help compact the surface and make it stronger. Having that deep surface profile that aluminum oxide gives allows the Cerakote to fill in those valleys and makes the coating as tough as the metal it's self.

Duracoat is another story. It's not actually ceramic so basically it's just really good paint. No where near the wear resistance of properly applied Cerakote.
