I disagree, you want to make every attempt to let people know this was your last line of defense, you had no other option, you absolutely didn't want this to happen, and you want to call and be the victim.

Make sure you shoot to kill, and call 911 right away and say there's been a shooting and you need medical help immediately. Someone attacked you, you thought you were going to die, and you had to use your firearm.
You don't want to be calm and collected, you don't want your lawyer calling. You don't want to seem like you don't care someone else is dead, and you took your time calling for help.

Always remember you want to be portrayed as the victim, you had absolutely no other choice, and you made every possible attempt to save their life.
That's why you should always practice.
Shoot center mass, with as little shots as possible. You shoot someone 20 times your a murderer. You don't get them help asap and you wanted them to die.

And unfortunately the prosecutors will hack your computer and see all these posts about getting away with shooting someone and you'll be a criminal anyways.

Dial 911: "Please send help! An armed man broke into my house. Shots were fired. We need an ambulance....[name, address, etc.]"

    Then start CPR.
