Did anyone else watch it last night? I'd seen it before but it was just as good the second time.

Washington, when fighting the British straight up, won some battles but was badly defeated in New York. He retreated South to the Hillbillies who joined the fray. They were expert marksmen and woodsmen due to survival, and had good weapons.

The British had a massive supply train of horses and wagons so the patriots blocked roads with large fallen trees, slowing the British way down.

After that it was guerrilla warfare, although they didn't call it that. The sniper came into play, although they didn't call it that either. They mired down and picked off the British until that large group of British surrendered.

No guerrilla tactics force has ever been defeated on its own soil. (Not said on that program.)

    Makes ya think...

I saw this program too ... and was glad to see that they made a point out of discussing one of the major catalysts of the war itself -- the British insisting on disarming the colonists. That was the straw that broke the camel's back and initiated the battles of Lexington and Concord. That's probably why the 2nd Amendment was later called the "palladium of liberties" by one of our first Supreme Court justice.
