Default 4 Police Officers Killed in Parkland, WA, Shot Dead 2 Hours Ago

WTF is going on up here!?!

PARKLAND, Wash. - Four police officers were shot and killed in a Sunday morning ambush at a Parkland-area coffee shop, officials said.

Pierce County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ed Troyer called the ambush "a targeted attack."

Officials at the scene said two gunmen burst into the Forza Coffee Co. outlet at 11401 Steele St. South, shot the four uniformed officers as they were working on their laptop computers, then fled the scene.

Other customers were inside the coffee shop at the time of the attack, but none of them were shot or injured.

eager for more information... namely, whether the two "suspects" are dead, in-custody, on the run, on a lear jet back to whatever foreign government lab they came from, etc. this is the first article i've seen that included "and fled the scene," even- everything else just says 4 cops shot to death, two "suspects," more info later.

kind of be nice to know what the public safety status is on that. I don't live in tacoma, but i'm just down the highway. if there's gonna be 200-mile-long hollywood style car chases complete with FA shootouts along the way, it would be good to know.

PARKLAND, Wash. - Four police officers have been shot and killed near McChord Air Force Base.

Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer says that the officers were in a coffee shop near 116th Street and Steele Street on the east side of the Air Force base at about 8:30 a.m.

Police are searching for a male suspect and interviewing witnesses. Forza Coffee is near McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma.

Troyer says the officers were preparing for their shift when a suspect or suspects "walked in with a handgun, opened fire multiple times and then fled the scene," said Troyer.

    Troyer called it an "ambush."

"We hopefully will have answers, but there is nothing more we can tell you," Troyer said. "That's as cold-hearted as it is."

Troyer said the suspect is a black male, 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, 20s to 30s, scruffy appearance, wearing a black coat, blue jeans.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information. Tips can be called in to (253) 591-5959.

Troyer would not say what agency the officers were from until families could be notified.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects, Troyer said.

No description of the suspects is yet available.

Emergency personnel rushed to the scene after receiving a report that multiple officers were shot and killed in the ambush at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, according to reports from the scene.

Within minutes, hundreds of investigators and police were rushing to the scene. Roads were blocked in the vicinity of the attack.

One witness who was driving past said he saw an officer on the ground just after the shootings.

Authorities later closed off the air space over the scene of the shootings.

    Unbelieveable!

I did some remodel work there a couple years ago, and have been back a few times for coffee, since.

    It can happen anytime, anywhere.

For those not in the area, its a real nice, newer Forza coffee shop, with a large seating area.

    Pray they get him soon.

And pray for the families of these officers.

On another note I hope they get this bubblegum and that he NEVER sees the inside of a prison. I hope he gets shot down in the street like a rabid dog!!

Default 4 Police Officers Killed in Seattle area

SEATTLE — Four police officers were shot dead in an ambush at a Washington state coffee house, a sheriff's official said Sunday.

The attack occurred east of McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, Wash., about 35 miles south of Tacoma.

Authorities said two suspects entered Forza Coffee Co. and opened fire on the four police officers who were sitting inside, Fox affiliate q13fox.com reported.

Police are now searching for the two suspects, one white male and one black male, q13Fox.com reported. The black male is believed to be between 5'7" and 5'10" tall, wearing a black coat and blue jeans. There are no details on the physical description of the other male suspect.

The officers were going over paper work and drinking coffee before starting their shift when they were killed, q13fox.com reported.

"It was just a flat out ambush," Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer told The News Tribune in Tacoma, Wash.

Investigators believe the officers were targeted, and it was not a robbery, Troyer said.

There were other customers in the coffee shop but only the four officers were hit, according to q13Fox.com.

"The four of them are known by everybody here," Troyer said. "We haven't got any information as to why this happened."

Roads were blocked around the attack. Dave Gabrielson, a clerk at Foot Mart about a block away from the coffee shop, said that the neighborhood was quiet when he opened the store at 8 a.m. local time. About 30 minutes later, "All of a sudden a million cops were zooming up and down the road," Gabrielson said.

He said he saw officers bring a police dog into a nearby apartment complex.

Troyer tells Seattle's KOMO-TV that the officers were hit near 116th Street and Steele Street on the east side of the Air Force base at about 8:30 a.m. local time.

McChord Base is not on lockdown, according to 62nd Airlift Wing Public Affairs Spokesman Bud McKay. The base is open and implementing its standard procedure of ID checks.

Local authorities are urging anyone with tips related to the suspects to call the Crime Tipline at (253) 591-5959. They are also offering a $10,000 reward for any information on the suspects.

What a shame. But I'm sure there are lessons to be learned from this. We can never be complacent about being aware of our surroundings and the people that enter our surroundings. I always look for exits and cover where ever I'm at, and make a plan. People may think I am weird because of that, but that is ok. I rather be weird and alive than normal and dead.

I know, it is amazing how many people are prepared to just sit there and be slaughtered. What if the BGs were trying to kill everyone in that coffee shop? Was there no one who was prepared to protect themselves or others.

Four more of my brothers and sisters gone. Far to soon to have to put a mourning band over my badge again. Please included the families the fallen in your thoughts and prayers.

    Default The bottom line is.......

Someone has started a war and we haven't seen the end of this, that's forsure!
I would bet that the cops were putting the squeeze on some dope slingers and someone ordered a hit.

You had 4 well armed, trained, professionals wearing body armor get gunned down. I would seriously doubt that someone (a civilian) with a CC weapon would have stood a chance at that moment.

That could be possible...although I know another thing we would have suspected in CID if something like this happened would be a "dirty cop" scenario. We will have to wait and see if any information ever becomes public.

I'm of the same opinion, if those officers couldn't defuse this situation I doubt the average CHL holder could have been any help. On the other hand an unarmed citizen would have definitely been of no help.

First of all my prayers go out to the fallen officers and their families, but I'm willing to bet that these thugs have been through the revolving doors we call the legal system many times and they could not obtain a legal firearm if they had to. unfortunatly the rest of us who do play by the rules with end up paying the price. The libs will try to under stand the purps and ban the tool.

Man this is the type of thing that goes on in Mexico, maybe I'am thinking that because of all the drug cartel crap from Mexico going on here now, and the fears that more shoot outs with LEO's and them cartels will start happening here.

We have to be praying for those families that will be without their loved ones this season. Something like this doesn't make any sense to me.

Damn what the heck is going on in washington???
I hope to God they catch htis guy and shoot him in the head as well.
This is not the trend we want starting here.
And of course they will spin this to help get rid of guns for the good guys. But in the end it's still bad people that commit these crimes not the evil guns in their hands.
We need to focus and work on what make people act like this, and make sure they are punished beyond a plea and 30 years on death row.

May they rest in peace, their families have support, and their suspect see a muzzle flash.

We all love working with our family and friends
But all of us know it can come to an end
Most people go to work and just try to thrive
When we go to work we just hope we survive
Out on the beat we stay strong and walk tall
The fight for justice lives in us all
No matter the weather, if it's day or it's night
Each Officer out there will never give up the fight
We live for honor, and work for our pride
When one of us falls, a piece of all of us dies
When we put on that badge the bond of brotherhood is made tight
Through blood, sweat, and tears, through hells darkest nights
Although you fall, our flags won't fly at half mast
We will always remember to honor our Heros from present and past
Each of us will continue the battle through heartache and pain
To make sure your death will not be in vein
When they fold up your flag, all will be silent and pause
Giving praise to our Hero who died for the cause
We don't fight for medals, we don't fight for praise
We give everything so our families can see America's brightest days
To all of our Heros who stand proud and tall
The Red, White, and Blue is to honor you all
When we come into work and see your name on the wall
We will never forget you gave your life for us all

The one flaw in that thery is that looking at the police shootings here and how many rounds miss thier target. I have met and know people like us on this forum that are WAY BETTER SHOTS then 80% if not more of the police force out there. We train more, have better tools (then the street cop), use better ammo, etc.

    Granted this is my opinion.
