Thread: Considering a Mega MA-TEN .308 AR build...

Like the title says, I am considering a Mega MA-TEN .308 AR build. I've been talking with Curt down at Curt's Discount Shooter's Supply about it.

I've read all I can find about the MA-TEN and it seems like a nice base for a .308.

Any input, experience, etc you are willing to share?

Mega's receivers are top notch. I've had a DPMS and now have a mega and couldn't be happier.

Only thing I'd add is to get ahold of Coctailer or JC Weaponry. Both top notch guys! If I had the scratch for a 308 build the MA-ten set is the one that catches my eye time and again!

What your guys thoughs about it not having the forward assist?

yay less junk.

with 2 m16's and countless AR's, I have never once used the forward assist. IMO if the bolt doesnt close, something is wrong or to dirty

I built mine last year and love it. Got almost everything through Rainier Arms including the barrel and bolt which they also headspace for you if you ask. Here is my build thread....
