Thread: How to set up a DPMS 308 ? ie...sites equipment

I acquired a DPMS 308 complete carbine length system. I have ideas on how I want to build it but I am interested in hearing and seeing different 7.62 x39 builds. I picked this up to supplement my current AR systems and increase engagement distance.

My current build ideas are to attach a 4x12 Leupold and an offset holographic site along with a front vertical grip that contains an internal bipod and light.


I am just curious about the different ideas for builds on this platform.

I would start by figuring out what caliber you want. .308 (7.62x51) or 7.62x39 as most commonly used in AK's and SKS's.

If you have a DPMS LR-308 the first thing I would do is upgrade the RE and buffer to 7.62 parts, not the cut down AR15 parts that comes with the LR-308.
