Default Recommendation for open sight for 10-22

I am looking for recommendations for sights for a ruger 10-22.
I'd like to keep the 10-22 as simple (non-tactical) as possible, and want to stay away from placing a scope on it.

The sights currently on it are the 'standard' pseudo-flip-up rear sight and the front post.

I am interested in a 'peep' style sight, but wanted to ask you all out there what, if anything, you'd recommend.

    Thanks.

Williams makes a receiver peep sight for the 10/22 that mounts into the rear two scope mount holes on the top of the receiver. You can get it from Brownell's, Midway, etc...

Nwcid, how was the fit on the front sight, did you have to do any trimming on the dove tail?

I put them on last year and I dont recall. If it had been any kind of major issue I am sure I would have remembered.

I use to do a lot of gun project but have not had time for much over the last year.

If memory serves the dovetail was adjustable with a set screw. I had more problems drifting the factory sight out than putting the tech sight in.

How would you rate the durability (& ability to hold zero) for the Williams react sight?
The tech-sights look hardy... & useful, but at $67, they cost nearly as much as the 10-22.

In my 'hunting' for the ideal open sight set up for a 10-22, I came across this:
Ruger 10/22 Peep Sight Roundup | Garp
While not exhaustive, it provides a thorough review of many sight systems out there.
Also, the comment section has a wealth of good information.

I like the Williams rear peep sight, but have heard/read grumbling about the adjustment procedures. The Tech-Sights appear to be the most durable (and similar/familiar to military sights) but appear HUGE (with limited ability to 'sight-in' at closer ranges). The use I am intending for this particular 10-22 is for squirrel hunting (Western Grey or Red, not ground squirrels).

Nodak makes front and rear sights for the 10-22, both skinny barrel and bull.

    NoDak Spud NDS-22 receivers

I'll add my vote for tech sights. It feels like you're shooting an M-16 with iron sights. Go for the version with adjustable windage and elevation at the rear. Makes dialing it in a breeze!

    I went with the Williams.
Tapped out the front sight at the range, replaced it with the 'fire' sight, & proceeded to sight it in.
    Results were good.
    Thanks for the suggestions.
I'll post photos of squirrel recipes next season.
