Default Grandpa's Rifle 1948 Savage 99F Value please help.

My grandmother is looking to find out the value of her husband's 1948 Savage 99F in 300 Savage caliber. It is in amazing condition, perfect bluing and no pits or rust. I cannot send pics now but would like to know to tell her as she is considering selling it.

    Thanks guys and gals!

    From the current BlueBook.
There are a couple series of 99F rifles. First is for the 1920-1940 production:
    100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
    $1,400 $1,200 $950 $850 $750 $650 $600
Then there is 1955 thru 1973 production:
    100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
    $750 $655 $565 $510 $415 $340 $265
Valuation is very dependent on condition.
Note, 100% is theoretical as there are NONE in that catagory.
More research is needed to find out the serial number matching the year of mfg.
    Hope this helps

According to: Savage 1895/1899/99 Dates of Manufacture
    It was manufactured around 1951.

    Just my quick Google search

After looking at the gun in person today I just found out the Serial number code has a letter and it's a 3F under the lever. So 1954 for the year. The rifle is a Model 99 E (Not an F) Any idea of a value/asking price?

Sorry, I have no idea. Was just trying to help by searching the net. You might try gun auction sites like Guns for Sale, Gun Classifieds, Gun Auctions, Shop for Guns at GunsAmerica or Guns - Online Gun Auction - Guns for Sale at GunBroker.com.

Condition is everything for this rifle. You are somewhere in the $500+/- area. Check the completed auctions on Gunbroker.
