How about a gun that is much more accurate, more reliable, and way prettier than either a 10/22 or an M&P all at once?

If you don't mind a bolt action that is.

    I used to have a 10/22, but I sold it and bought a CZ-452. I couldn't be happier.

    Default I Made the Purchase...

Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread and for all the suggestions, opinions, feedback and offers. NWFA is a cool site .

I purchased a Ruger 10/22 instead of the M&P. My heart wanted the M&P, but my head said get the Ruger. I bought one on sale at Bi-Mart last week for $170.
With the economy the way it is, the cost of the Ruger was a big deciding factor. Add in the proven track record of the Ruger and I was sold.

Plus, it will only be a few years and I'll probably want a second .22 rifle to shoot with the kids. That will be a great time to pick up the M&P. By then it will have more track record and all the teething issues behind it.

Thanks again for all the help!
