Default what barrel length would you choose for a .300win mag.?

So I am building a Savage 110. I am slightly stuck on what length barrel I want. I was leaning towards 30-31" since Savage Model 12 Palma's run a 30" from the factory. There is a guy that went with a 24" with good results for him. So for a range of 28"-31" barrel length (no other options to vote for) what would your preference be for a "Target/bench rifle"? no hunting involved

With the amount of powder you have to burn, I would go with a minimum of a 26" barrel.

Agree with "the4thshake" that a 26" barrel should be the minimum. That's the length of my .300WM.
