    Default How to clear a squib round ?

    I was out shooting my Rem 700 .243 Win today , everything was going great then SQUIB ! Anyone have any suggestions on how I might clear this ? any help would be greatly appreciated......

    i have a brass rod that i concaved on the end to push squibs out with, but a wood dowel or even a cleaning rod you don't care about destroying will work. a wood dowel is less likely to damage the bore.. just make sure its as big as you can fit in and beat that sucker out.

    YUP ! wood dowel, It's out. This could of been potentionally bad. If the squib would have happened a little further down the barrel & I was able to chamber another round, I probably wouldnt have my rifle anymore...........

    Wood dowel and hammer away...I'd use a mallet though
