Just check out the Benelli M4 that they used on Deadliest warrior for SWAT. It was beautiful.

    Default I have

some four shotguns, two Mossburgs, an 870 and a Win 1300. For home/RV defense I chose the Win 1300. The action is short and smooth plus it works great with the ½ size Aguila rounds I use. I have 13 rds. loaded and the saddle has an add'l five 00's in it in case I need to "reach out" further with more power. I wish there was a Vang Comp barrel for it though!

My next firearm purchase will be the Mossberg 500 combo in 12 gauge. It comes with 2 barrels - 18.5 and 28 inches. One for hunting and one for home dfense. I doubt that I'll make any changes with it. Around $270 at Bi-Mart.

I really like the ghost ring sights with the fiber optic front. The limbsaver recoil pad also works well on a light gun.

I've owned an 870 Police, M590, M500 and now a Maverick 88 (an extra Y2K gun for $169.00). Was happy w/ all of them. M590 was a little unwieldy and I ended up selling them all off and kept the Maverick. Why?, didn't need all of them and was perfectly satisfied with the M88 performance and the others had better resale value.

This is straight up excellent advice and my thoughts as well when I read the OP. I’ve owned both Rem. 870s and Moss. 590s (& 500’s) and they are great guns. That said my next tactical shotgun will be a converted Saiga 12.
