    Default Winchester mdl 37 age?

Anybody familiar with the variations on the model 37 that will give
    an approx. age?

Picked up a 12 ga. 30" 37. Curious as to roughly when it was made.
Buttstock logo is the older round WRA style. I know there are some tang/lever variations, but not sure what I've got.

They were introduced in 1936,and discontinued in 1963.
What color is the lettering? Some of the real early ones had the lettering in Red.
Does yours have the Pig Tail release,or the later forged variation?
What shape is the foregrip, rounded ?
What style of screw is used on the logo, philips or flat head ?
Since there were no serial numbers used, you will need to use identifying features to help determine approximate age.
    Good luck,
    RK

Not a Red Letter gun. "MODEL 37 STEELBILT"
    Rounded foregrip
    Flathead screws
I'm guessing forged release--it looks like the release on my other
topbreaks, doesn't look like any part of a pig
The cocking piece is parallel to the barrel on top. Later guns
    have a flipped up rear?

I'm GUESSING this one is somewhere in the late 40's to maybe mid 50's era?
