Thread: COLT AR 15 SP1 HBAR

Colt AR-15SP1 heavy barrel (HBAR) rifle in 95% condition. This is great example of the one's that started it all. It has a 20 inch barrel, military-style flash suppressor, and bayonet lug. On the barrel, it is marked “C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR”. The caliber is .5.56mm NATO or .223 Rem. Trap door stock.

The lower receiver is marked “COLT AR-15SP1 Ser:157XXX. Late model, made in 1981. Comes with one 20 & one 30 rnd magazine.

Nice looking old A2. Can you confirm the lower is marked "SP1" and has a "SP" serial number prefix? You have all A2 furniture and A2 upper on this rifle, I think you may have misidentify it.
