Default 'New Posts' vs. 'What's New?'

Thought if I hung around here for a week or two I'd have it all figured out. But, I've got a noobe question. What's the difference between the New Posts link and the What's New? button? New Posts seems to give me more results.

What's New? has some exclusions like the classifieds. New Posts doesn't have those exclusions.

I don't see a New Posts link. All I know to do is the What's New?

It's right underneath the HOME button at the top left of each page.

Oops! you beat me to it.
