I'm a member of quite a few hobby forums. Here is an example of what needs to happen as our online community expands. Its not a fix all, but it would really start to point this place in the right direction as we grow. A buyer/seller beware sticky in the classifieds would weed out the bad apples.

"Since we have had scamming popping up here recently, I decided to try and keep track of those people for future reference for the members' of RCC. So as the time seems fit, I will update this post with peoples names' that seem to be popping up alot and that people seem to have alot of problems dealing with.

Also, if there are other people like this that I have missed, Please PM me and let me know who or the post that it was in and I will look into it.

As you all know, we do not allow posting of PM's or dealings that went sour through EBAY or no listing of personal info, unless authorized buy a RCC personel. You are only allowed to post such things ( NO Ebay at anytime ) once you have spoken to a Mod of RCC and he has given you the OK to do so. When posting someones' personal info, only the name, city and state can be listed. We will not allow the listing of someones' address or phone #. If done so, you will be warned the first time. 2nd time and you will lose privileges to the "Classifieds Section" for 30 days.
3rd offense will result in the lose of privileges to the "Classifieds Section" for good.

    Thanks
    RCC Staff

Not that I matter, but I do not think it should be okay for someone to post neg feedback just because you posted neg feedback on them. Not saying it happened (or that anyone knew about it), just my opinion.

As to the heart of the matter, YES, give him bad feedback. It is how the rest of us respectable people know who they should or should not feel safe dealing with.

Also it should be noted by anyone who plans on doing ftf sales of any kind, always be weary of funny situations, be safe, and use your gut instinct. If it doesn't feel right, don't do it.

My brother sold a musical instrument to someone on Craigslist who ended up being a complete whackjob. Told him it was broken, then when my brother (nicer than I am) offered to give him his money back knowing that it was not broken, he cancelled and said it wasn't broken, he just didn't know how to use it. Then what do you know, a week later it was 'broken' again.

The guy ended up telling my bro all this crazy stuff about being a gang member and hunting him and his family down. It ultimately led my brother to finally get his CPL and I gave him one of my Glock 19s out of fear that he may follow through on his threat.

You just don't know, and you and your families health and protection is not worth risking.

    Stay safe.

So, if you have an email from someone saying they will complete a trade when they return from out of town, and you cancel potential deals due to the email and close your add, would you leave negative feedback if the guy sent an email when he returns to PDX 5 days later that he has changed his mind ? I'm mad at myself also for turning down potential good trades, then getting hosed on the promised trade.

Why wouldn't you? Everyone else needs to know that he is a dirtbag.

Here's what happened to me. I had a handgun for sale, He posted "I'll take it" on the thread, I pm'd him my #, he called, said he would see me at 11 the next morning w/the cash, he lives 1.5 hours from me.
The next morning at 5, he pm'd me and said he decided it was to far for him to drive so he was backing out.
Does a situation like this deserve negative feedback?

When you say "I'll take it", its is considered that the buyer has used the buy it now feature like on ebay. All that is missing is the payment. Backing out on a deal sight unseen is crap, if your advertisement is accurate then there is no reason for them to have a change of heart. People here need to grow a pair and leave negative feedback on these dirtbags so they can be weeded out. Just my 2 cents.

Everyone has to use their own judgement on these things. Personally i would never hold a gun for someone for 5 days, let alone 1 day..UNLESS I knew they were reliable..ie I had traded with them before or they have a good reputation here.
But if a noob or someone here that is questionable says 'I'll take it'..that doesn't mean squat to me....neither does, 'I'll buy it after i get back in town', or 'on payday' or whatever. Fine, if i still have it then, we will talk then...no way am i holding something like that. . Too many flakes, not just here, but everywhere. Don't set yourself up for failure. Money talks..first come, first serve.

I just shake my head while readings these post.
i have had problems here also. like the one who wants my gun and says he has to wait until he sells his? and i should hold it for him until the following week. i didn't do it.
or the low ballers that just piss a guy off. had a guy offer me 800 on a gun that was 1,100 i was firm on the price and this guy is saying i have cash right now.like i was hurting for money or something.
tell me where you can find a uzi model a for 800.00 and i would buy it to.
the guy had 1 post and no trades.
i mean come on guys a lot of us are not new to guns and can give a crap if we sell something or not. i have what i feel is a semi large collection of guns and like to trade sometimes or sell when i have a duplicate of something.
but don't insult me when you make a offer. ya know 50 off or maybe a 100 on something like the uzi but if you feel like your taking a chance on getting somebody pissed at you don't even make the offer.
i have blocked several people here for reasons that i think are lagit. i'm a first impression type of guy.
i don't have time to figure out who is who so i just go by what people have pm'd me on. if i feel like your being a *** or rude then you will loose out not me. the next time when i have something you really, really want and now find your self blocked? remember how you treated me.

i stick them on my ignore list. most of the lowballers tend to not want to make them selves public so the will pm you. if on the ignore list you just don't get any pm's from them.
