That must be why AIDS researchers use politicians rather than monkeys for their investigations.....there are somethings monkeys won't do.....even for bananas

(I'd wish they would use those bananas on the politicians).

I think Vaseline is going to be going up big time as soon as people figure out what is being done to them and want to ease the pain.

Yeah and if he werewolves and vampires come, you can sell bullets. But if the economy is destroyed what will silver buy?
What good is it besides bullets?
I can't eat it and I'm not an electrician.

What can you use these pieces of paper caller "Federal Reserve Notes"??? Chances are that the currency will be destroyed more permanently than the economy. There are plenty of examples in modern history where the economy tanked and there was general misery, but eventually it has recovered and things got better. I cannot think of a single example where a currency tanked and then recovered its value.
This is what gold and silver are good for - keeping one's worth from evaporating.

Yes, but on a positive note we will all be billionaires and most likely trillionaires just like Zimbabwe. We can go to our graves proud that we were Trillionaires! To be a private foreign-owned bank and print dollars out of thin air, control every important politician, determine if the masses have jobs. The crime of the century right under everyone's noses, but no one seems to notice, no one seems to care.

Definitely government virus type. Maybe the Zombieland mad cow disease becomes mad human disease style...

Not to get too religious on you all, but I have faith that anything that is put before me and us as a society can be dealt with. I have faith that when we get pushed too far, we'll push back. We have before, we will again. Until that time becomes apparent, I will survive as best I can...

I predict I will expand my water preparedness options beyond existing storage, chemical treatment, and fuel for boiling to include some sort of emergency filtration system. I predict as well that I will acquire three new firearms--two bolt actions and a replacement for the .44 that I gave away in a trade for a boat. I don't "need" the .44, but it just doesn't feel right not having it in the safe any more.

    Default Chemical water treatment

What type of chemical water treatment are you referring to and where can it be purchased (preferably locally)? Thanks.

Chlorine dioxide tablets available from pretty much any camping retailer. I keep enogh on hand to treat 50 gallons. Secondary is good old unscented Clorox. Use the unscented for household use and then rotate the gallon in the SHTF room each time we get a new one.

What one seems to focus their thoughts on seems to somehow always come to pass.

Does that mean if I think hard enough, we'll get to see Zombies?

if there is a better deal out there please let me know.
Easy, Calcium hypochlorite. You can buy a 1lb bottle for under $10. This one bottle will make upto 128 gallons of household bleach.

There is always boiling. It's all I ever did when I went backpacking. Build fire, get some stream water, put water in pot and boil for about 5 minutes. Kills pretty much everything.

But no deployment of ground forces would happen without a long and drawn out fight in Congress.....I would hope the Predators we surely have flying over Libya find Ka Daffy before we get to that point. Predictions of Dow crashes might be true..but you have to keep in mind even as the average person is suffering, corporate profits have never been higher, and the Dow is a reflection of how big business is doing. The multi-national corporations will continue to suck us dry until we are an empty shell then move on to China. China is where our eyes need to be as it has the resources and market that the big corporations need to survive. China will be the next target for corporate take over and we will see in the coming year forces applied to the populace there which will begin to undermine the Communist power structure. If you haven't already read John Perkins' "Secrets of an Economic Hitman" do so. You will see how recent event hold true to his life experience as a front man for the big money interests around the world. His follow up book: "The Secret History of the American Empire" is also very informative.
This is a good post. However, there is a good argument that when oil stays above 100.00 per barrel for a sustained time, industrial activity spirals down. Increasingly our political battles, both at home and abroad, will be about who gets access to the shrinking pool of fossil fuel. Tea Party efforts to paint public transportation investments as 'socialist/bad' will leave the average American screwed, with no choices when filling up the tank breaks the bank (but, hey, that's what working for the Koch Brothers means). Liberal elite planners trying to link public transportation development with insider real estate schemes will self-sabotage the essential projects that could save our butts. There could be room for agreement in the middle in favor of an abundant, lean, and mean public transportation system as a new populist demand.

I wish people quit referring to these collectivists as liberal. "Liberal" must be the most misused word in political discussions in this country and it meaning has been flipped 180 degrees on its head. The true meaning of the word is someone who seeks to live their life in liberty, with as little interference from government or private entities as possible, How is someone who strives to have government take over everything a liberal then????? They are not.

Everything I predicted has come to pass, except the Suez Canal is still open and of course I missed Fukashima but I now predict that the japanese exposed will start dieing en-mass in the next 6 months and that the mass die-offs of apex sea predators will be linked to fukashima toxins (I no longer eat fish).
Fukashima is not dead, it will kill 1000's more
