Nearly, finished building my Gasifier. When done should be able to run generator and possibly truck on wood. Testing on Briggs & Stratton engine this weekend.

Had a dream about steam power (sounds silly,I know) but started looking in to how a person could build a boiler and generator out of home made parts. If a person could apply apply some Tesla princpals it may work pretty well.

    Default Gasifier

Here are some links I found that are pretty helpful, also there are many working examples on youtube as well, when searching you can usually find them under gasifier or wood gas.

Wasn't today, but recently picked up an older Honda 4500 generator. Gave it a tune up and now runs great! Got a few more gallons of Coleman fuel for my camp stove and MSR backpacking stoves. Picked up a lil .32 derringer. I know it's not much, but works for a secondary backup.

The go to person that fixes almost everyone chainsaws, generators, lawnmowers, weed wackers and everything in rural community where a family live in MO, say run premium fuel in your smale engines they run better and cleaner, store the fuel using Sea Foam, and run a double dose through a tank of fuel to give the fuel system a good cleaning.

BTW, I like your choice I am wanting the smaller 3,000 si with a tri-fuel carberutor convertor on it

In the process of getting myself in shape. Did 225 pushups each day this week (sets of 25), next week is 240 pushups (sets of 30). In the past 2-3 week I've increased my max reps from ~23 to 40.

Prepped 500 .223 brass yesterday for loading, 1/2 will be put in an ammo can for long-term storage and the rest will be for the range.

I couldn't complain on the generator, I got it for free. Guy thought it was broken, but just needed a tune up. Gotta love those who are not mechanically inclined

I understand I would have done the same thing, and have in a few cases and turned around and sold the item,

I'll do that if I run across another. Needed a generator, so this works

    Gasifier Update!

Fired it up this morning, wasn't producing any wood gas, realized I didn't have enough wood in it, went to wilco bought some wood bedding pellets for farm animals
loaded it up, had wood gas 5 minutes later. My objective of getting the Briggs and stratton didn't work not sure why, so I aimed bigger and tried it on my f350 with a 460 and the damn thing ran, and good at that, whod've known. All in all success.

I purchased a Camp Chef Oven with 2-burner top and a non-stick griddle at Costco for $170.

Nice unit. It runs on propane. It could be used for camping, but I want it for a SHTF scenario such as an earthquake. Our generator doesn't have enough oomph to run the electric oven, and our natural-gas powered cooktop will likely be unusable when the gas lines are broken or intentionally shutdown.

Pickup some seeds for the garden, bought two packages of everything available in Heirloom and one package of each Non heirloom, put them each away in mylar bag with an oxygen absorber. I figure shtf the fan the first year a full a garden with ample will be needed for consumption and trade. each mylar package is labeled for easy i dentification, I will pick up some more over the next several weeks, and pack them away as well. The more i put up the more I see I am un prepared for a full blown shtf disaster

bought 3 traps 2 different sizes, and also bought 3 of the corkscrew things for pets leashes to anchor traps to for quick set ups. I figure the traps can get food so I can use my energy and ammo for other things.
