No, the headspace is achieved by installing the correct size locking piece.

Depends on your skill level of course.

You have to measure and buy the right size one. I think there are places you can trade in the locking piece that comes in the kit for one of the correct size.

Sometimes the one you have will work also, but I wouldn;t count on that.
