Thread: shooting area central oregon/ madras area

over here on vacation and looking for a gravel pit/ shooting spot. LEGAL, not bothering anyone.

Just south of Madras, on HWY 26 headed towards Prineville, is the Crooked River National Grasslands. Just take one of the side roads off the highway. Your only issues will be cattle that may be grazing in the area. If they are in an area keep looking. There are a bazillion little draws etc you can set-up in. If you have a local person here with you that knows the area, you can also head out Grizzly Road east of Madras. Miles of BLM land there as well.

Second Chugger's spot, there is also a spot out towards the prison for some sage rat shooting. I'll be down tomorrow and was planning on shooting Sunday. If you want PM me and I can show you around.

thanks for the responses. did just that, headed out on 26 just before the crest of the hill, before dropping into prineville, it was a great spot. we are leaving on sat, appreciate the offer though.
