Thread: shooting areas by Dufur / McGubbins gulch

some friend of mine are going to Dufur and Mcgubbins gulch this weekend and are looking for a shooting area near by....


anyone have any suggestion?

Be careful of the dirt bikers, they're EVERYWHERE! There's lots of good trails up there around the power lines. Let me know what you find.

I am only going for a little bit, but my friends are camping and riding.... I ride a lot up there too so i will be keeping an eye out for them also, just want to let them play with some of the toys while they are in town..... got to love friends that come from places where NFA is not allowed. they basically cr*p themselves when you start shooting them.

I am planning on stopping at the ranger station there and seeing if they have any recommendations. but still thought i would see if there is any areas that someone is familiar with as being safe.

My wife and stayed at the Balch two weeks ago. Superb hotel. The newly revamped Kramer's Market is also very well done and they served us an excellent dinner too. If anyone finds a good, legitimate spot to shoot, please post it here, I'd like to be able to combine two trips into one our next time out there.
