Huh, imagine that... CIVILLIANS attempting to strip CITIZENS of their citizenship if it ever suits them.
You walk the path of a coward, taking shelter behind those who are unafraid to stand AND fall; counted among those who live as nothing more than dross in the eyes of your betters... Enjoy your freedom.

I'd like to read the actual senate bill rather than someone else's take on it. Sounds like the bill would be more for the likes of al-Alwaki than Joe Beercan.

Hmmm. Seems like the unbelievable might be real. Can't find anything saying it's false. Would Obama and his buddies ever love that setup.

Not exactly, I think they have to confiscate your wealth too to be just like the Nazi Socialist. You can look for them to give themselves the right to steal your money when they throw you out next..

W kicked the ball off when it comes to detention w/o trial. You remember Jose Padillia, right?

Padilla was arrested in Chicago on May 8, 2002 on suspicion of plotting a radiological bomb ("dirty bomb") attack. He was detained as a material witness until June 9, 2002, when President George W. Bush designated him an enemy combatant and, arguing that he was thereby not entitled to trial in civilian courts, had him transferred to a military prison. Padilla was held for three and a half years as an "enemy combatant" until, after pressure from civil liberties groups, the charge was dropped and his case was moved to a civilian court.

The quoted items are true but misleading as this is left out:
"Defines "hostilities" as any conflict subject to the laws of war."
So, unless they declare war it doesn't apply, but still worried: What if they illegally declare martial law on some put up pretense like the Occupy movement?

I case you weren't paying attention a few weeks ago, due to recent legislation, signed by the pres (after he said he wouldn't) the U.S. (domestic holdings included) now has a "battlefield" designation.
In that legislation, language was inserted, denying the dotgov the ability to detain citizens by the (our) military indefinitely.
So here we have legislation that modifies the Immigration and Nationality Act, allowing the dotgov to remove your status as a citizen more easily, even if you were born here to parents born here.
Thereby circumventing the amendment(s) in the previous NDAA bill.
Bill Text - 112th Congress (2011-2012) - THOMAS (Library of Congress)

Ya gotta connect the dots, but it's there.

Habeas Corpus Stands Firm in El Paso County, Colorado!

"Utah had its Sheriff Mack. Maricopa County, Arizona has Sheriff Joe Arpaio. But Colorado Springs, Colorado has Terry Maketa.

In November 2011, Sheriff Maketa of El Paso County, Colorado, along with its five County Commissioners struck a blow for freedom and the Constitutional rights of citizens.

These six signed a proclamation affirming the right to Habeas Corpus which the National Defense Authorization Bill or Senate Bill 1867 removed when it was signed into law by President Obama.

The proclamation which has gone viral, affirms that the local sheriff, who is any county’s top cop, can override actions taken by the military or the Feds to arrest someone without notification to the Sheriff.

Under this proclamation, the Sheriff will make sure that a Miranda warning is given, the right to see a judge and the right to NOT be taken out of the county or held incommunicado without permission is upheld."

Our Sheriffs are the most important person you will vote for, they are the law.
