Thread: Illegal Aliens

I want to start by saying that I admire other cultures. Geography was one of my favorite subjects whan I was in school. I even speak Spanish somewhat well. I have Mexican friends. Dario is a Spanish version of my name. So, I do not consider myself a racist.
However, today there are 18 to 20 million people in this country who broke the law to get here. These people consist of Mexicans and other Latinos who came here looking for work. There are also an unknown number of Moslems who came here looking to do us harm (2001, remember?). Arabs (Moslems) tend to be dark skinned and brown eyed like Mexicans. It is easy for Arabs to shave their beards and put on Mexican style clothing and they can fit right in. So, I consider this huge illegal population group to be a hazard to our way of living.
I also consider these people to be "HOUSEBREAKERS"! They broke the law to get here. We would break the law if we entered their countries this way! The worst thing is that they become entitled to the RIGHTS of citizenship as soon as they cross the border! They are entitled to our schools and hospitals! I'm not sure if they can get food stamps (but I suspect that they can). If they don't get the treatment the desire they take to the streets in massive demonstrations!
Now, how would you like to have someone break into your home? How would you like it if they then started demanding a place at your table? Should you have to provide them with a bed? Clothing? Money? Should you have to add them to your medical and car insurance? Let them drive your car? Be responsible for their activities? And, demonstate against you if they don't get what they want? And, you couldn't kick them out?
Unfortunately, that is the WAY IT IS! WHY? I believe that the Democratic Party (at least the Liberals) is in a large way responsible because Illegals are even allowed to VOTE! And, they tend to vote for DEMOCRATS! I know a man who once worked for the Oregon DMV. They have the "MOTOR VOTER" rule. He told me that Illegals would come in who couldn't speak a word of English, but who had voter forms filled out in impeccable English. He asked the head of Voter Registrars of Multnomah County what was being done about Illegals registering to vote and was told: "We don't even care!" It is no secret that millions of Illegals have been voting for years now. And, almost ALL are controlled by LIBERALS! One of the things that is destroying freedom in Kalifornia is the large voting bloc of Illegal Aliens - who vote almost 100% for Liberal Democrats and their policies!
So, whose hearts bleed for these people who broke the law to come here? LIBERAL or CONSERVATIVE? DEMOCRAT or REPUBLICAN? (Remember, I am an Independent.) Is there anything we can do?

As far as a party DEMOCRAT or REPUBLICAN neither has done the job of securing our borders most of the politicians use the phrase undocumented now not illegal as a way of getting us conditioned to the fact that this is the way its going to stay. Common knowledge they are using the system and massive amounts of money go to sustain this crazy cycle. "They" will let this happen to the point of us all living in poverty, 1 in 6 are the nimbers living in poverty today, is this so "They" have a working class that is too busy just trying to get by or a working class who will always go for the politician promises us a better way, as "they" all do.
BTW numbers may be 20 to 30 million here illegal.

When amnesty is granted to those who are here illegally, the millions that will permanently vote for liberal socialist democrats will permanently tip the voting scales to a one party electorate, the wet dream of those currently in power. Its the whole reason for ripping the door off the hinges at the border. That and cheap labor. Its a legitimized invasion, and any politician that aids in it is by definition a traitor, and should be treated accordingly. The previous administration included. Of course it will never happen. BUT....if civil war rightly breaks out.........................all bets (and gloves)are off.

Illegal immigrants are just as much the republicans baby as the democrats. The conservative party has the most interest in keeping them here. They provide cheap labor for large industry. Even your precious W wanted to give them amnesty. Also, republicans are responsible for the ridiculous worker programs that allow Indian technical workers to come here on unlimited visas (working at less than 1/2 industry scale) while American technologies workers sit unemployed. I have a couple of friends who have been the victim of that policy here in Oregon.

People are always going to sneak across the border. The only thing we can do is try and limit that from happening and remove incentive for them being here. We do need some cheap labor though...unless we want to start using prison populations to fill those roles. What we really need to stop ASAP is the practices like the later I mentioned. Those practices are not taking nut picking jobs, they are taking livable wage professional jobs away from trained American workers.

the problem with trying to protect technical jobs that if cheaper labor is available elsewhere then the whole industry will move overseas , putting even more people out of work.

Time for a good ol' fashioned roundup?

The problem is they come here for wages and will stay as long as you pay them to. Don't support those businesses that use illegal labor and the illegals will go home. It's that simple but it takes alot of people who want change for it to happen. Tell your friends to make a choice.

Oregon has been a sanctuary state since the libs took over in 1987, Both our lib senators voted against E-verify, an Internet-based system that allows an employer, using information reported on an employee's Form I-9, to determine the eligibility of that employee to work in the United States. To their credit they did stop handing out drivers license like candy bars last year.

According to a CRS report (October, 2005), Oregon passed a law in 1987 that prohibits local and state law enforcement from using state resources for locating and capturing illegal aliens. Law enforcement was permitted [but not required] to "exchange information" with federal immigration agents if an illegal alien was arrested for a crime.

That does no good. The fight needs to be taken to the Willamette Valley commies that vote them into power. Argue with them, spit at them, re-re-educate them.

Not if the proper rules are put into place to prevent such practices. And do not try the "then prices will skyrocket" argument because that is not correct. Soaring profits will shrink but prices will only go up slightly...and since more of that money will go into the American economy more citizens will be able to afford the slight increases in price.

There are many different people here with many different viewpoints on various issues. Like religion, discussing these issues here is highly likely to offend and very little good can come of it. We need to be focusing on the things that bring us together (firearms), not the things that have the potential to divide us (politics).
